چکیده

Intr The hemodynamic effects of laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation are well known. A variety of drugs, like fentanyl, esmolol and lately dexmetomidine, have been used in order to attenuate the stress response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation. Esmolol is an ultrashort acting beta 1 selective adrenergic antagonist, while dexmetomidine is an alpha 2 adrenergic receptor agonist. Fentanyl is a short-acting opioid.

[The comparison of the effects of dexmedetomidine, fentanyl and esmolol on prevention of hemodynamic response to intubation].

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Laryngoscopy and intubation can cause hemodynamic response. Various medications may be employed to control that response. In this study, we aimed to compare the effects of dexmedetomidine, fentanyl and esmolol on hemodynamic response. METHOD Ninety elective surgery patients who needed endotracheal intubation who were in American Society of Anesthesiology I-II group a...

Clinical Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety of three Different Doses of Fentanyl to Prevent Hemodynamic Stress Response During Laryngoscopy and Intubation: A Randomized Double Blind Clinical Study

Background: Hemodynamic stress response to laryngoscopy and intubation produces a significant hemodynamic alteration that may adversely affect patients with cardiac and neurological diseases. Fentanyl before induction attenuates hemodynamic stress response. We compared three different doses of fentanyl so as to find the most appropriate dose which prevents the response without adverse consequen...

Comparison of bolus and continuous infusion of esmolol on hemodynamic response to laryngoscopy, endotracheal intubation and sternotomy in coronary artery bypass graft.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The aim of this randomized, prospective and double blinded study is to investigate effects of different esmolol use on hemodynamic response of laryngoscopy, endotracheal intubation and sternotomy in coronary artery bypass graft surgery. METHODS After approval of local ethics committee and patients' written informed consent, 45 patients were randomized into three group...

A comparative study of fentanyl –clonidine and fentanyl - lidocaine on attenuation of haemodynamic stress response to laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation in hypertensive patients

Introduction: Endotracheal intubation may create a period of hemodynamic instability in normotensive patients but more so in hypertensive patients. Endotracheal intubation produces stimulation of laryngeal and tracheal sensory receptors, resulting in a marked increase in the elaboration of sympathetic amines leading to hypertensive crisis. Objectives: The objective of study is to evaluate and c...
